Do I need a TAB account to use the app?

You will need a TAB account to place bets using the app. The app places your bets via tab.mobi. TAB account holders are prompted to log in to their account when they place a bet.

Can I deposit or withdraw from my TAB account using the app?

You can make a credit card deposit online at tab.com.au or over the phone by calling TAB Customer Service on 131 802. Cash deposits can be made at your local TAB Retail Venue in NSW or Victoria, or at Australia Post Bank@Post outlets nationwide. BPAY and Electronic Funds Transfer is also available.

Withdrawals are not available via the app.

Live Sky Vision - How does it work

The Sky live video is delivered using adaptive technology.

This means our customers get the best picture possible because the stream automatically decides what the device is capable of handling based on the connection speed.

The way adaptive works;

1. The user selects to watch vision.
2. Stream starts using the lowest bitrate possible.
3. The mobile device automatically switches up the bitrates depending on the connection type and speed available.
4. If reception quality drops so does the stream bitrate so the user does not lose any vision or audio and has a continual experience

The data bitrates vary based on your connection.

3G – very poor reception – 64kbps Audio stream only with a static slide.
3G – OK connection – 150kbps or 240kbps stream.
3G – Perfect reception – 440kbps.

All 3G streams are available to WIFI connected devices with the addition of the below;

WIFI – 640kbps – Available if the device is on WIFI only.
WIFI – 840kbps – Available if the device is on WIFI only.

Sky Vision – rights and usage

Live Sky 1 and Sky 2 is available to all TAB Account customers for a limited time.

In order to view live video content, TAB customers are required to verify their TAB internet account number and password.

Due to broadcast licensing restrictions, video is only for racing covered by Sky.

For those races covered by TVN, the video stream is replaced with audio (this is done seamlessly and is part of the broadcast).

Also due to broadcast licensing restrictions, video is not allowed to be delivered to certain countries. This geoblocking is implemented in the video stream and based on the IP address of the user’s smartphone. Geoblocked users will be presented with a screen stating the fact in the app video screen.
